As of the 2010 United States Census, the district had a population of 219,875, of whom 161,480 (73.4%) were of voting age.
The 2017 Census estimates a district population of 221,398 (165,543 of voting age).

The largest municipalities of the district are Bernards Township (26,978), Springfield Township (17,447), Summit (22,323 residents), Warren Township (16,032) and Westfield (30,433). 60% of household have an average income of $100,000 and above (29.8% have $200,000 and above).
